Photography

A sampling of photos I have taken in Australia, Canada, California, and elsewhere. I shoot a variety of subjects in a hobbyist capacity. More photos can be viewed on my 500px account. Equipment is as follows:

Hummingbird perched on a branch.
Capturing birds resting is a lot easier than capturing them in flight.
Symmetric hydraulic tubing and fittings on a CAT digger.
Part of a Caterpillar digger with great symmetry and color.
Bengal tiger splashing through the water licking its chops.
This is a Bengal tiger and it is hungry.
Snow covered sharp mountain peak with sunset hues.
Muhigan Mountain in Canada showing off some subtle sunset hues.
A Eurocopter EC145 from Stanford Medical in flight.
Stanford Medical's Eurocopter EC145 in action.
Wind surfer jumps feet above the surf with a water plume.
The shaped plume of spray looks like orbital reentry.
Australian Kelpie dog holding a softball.
It's a softball and barely fits in her mouth, but she loves it anyways.
Submerged fallen trees in a blue alpine lake.
The water distorts the trees and flattens them, but the shadows are still in perspective.
High contrast sunset, lots of reds and purples.
Layers of hills is a trademark of these westward shots in California.
Black Lotus Exige parked in a showroom.
I am a fan of Lotus and their performance heritage, especially this Exige.
Trees covered in moss, somewhat like a temperate rain forest.
In the middle of a drought and you can still find places like this in California.
A Virgin Australian Boeing 737-8FE touching down with smoke puffs from the tires.

Portrait of a friend.
I'm very fond of this portrait.
Rugged mountain made of tilted crust strata showing exposed crust layers.
In the Canadian Rockies it appears that a huge section of the crust has tilted up.
